BREAKING! Universal announced Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue will close permanently on December 3rd!
Well everyone, it looks like we finally have a closing date for the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue at Universal Studios Florida! December 2nd will be the last time Guests will be able to hear the classic Universal monsters sing and dance to pop music!
The show was announced to be closing back in September when Universal announced the closing of Disaster along with it to make way for the new attraction, Fast and Furious Supercharged! Not many details have been given about the new attraction, but it is clear it will take up a full block of Universal real estate. Beetlejuice is closing so the theatre can be torn down to make room for the expanded ride building, which will also sit where Disaster was located.
The show is still mildly popular among Guests and many were hoping it would simply be moved into the Fear Factor theatre located next to Diagon Alley. I also thought this was a plausible theory since the Beeltejuice show was recently revamped last year to become more family friendly and it didn’t quite make sense to get rid of it so soon, especially since Fear Factor hasn’t been updated one bit since its opening. Plus, Universal and Tim Burton are making a sequel to the famous movie, with Michael Keaton returning. I guess the show isn’t as popular as it would appear. Perhaps, at the very least Universal will keep Beeltejuice as a character in the park, and Guests will once again be able to meet him on the streets. Here’s to hoping!
The new Fast and Furious Supercharged attraction is going to be an ‘original’ ride, meaning more than just a standard simulation ride, and will most likely hold similar elements to the newly opened portion of the tram tour in Universal Hollywood on of the same name. Due to the need space for its ride building, I image it will have moving ride vehicles on a track and could be a very thrilling attraction. It is set to open in 2017!
