The Jingle Cruise Returns to Magic Kingdom for the Christmas Season
Last week, after multiple years, I finally had a chance to experience The Jingle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom! If you haven’t heard about this seasonal attraction yet, which is still relatively new in theme park years, Disney adds a bit of Christmas flair into the popular Jungle Cruise attraction in Adventureland. It isn’t a completely different ride by any means, but they do a very nice job a intertwining Christmas decorations and jokes with the original ride we know so well!
The queue is all decorated with Christmas lights and additions clearly from each of the skippers trying to make it feel like home and spread Christmas cheer. Complete with different kinds of Christmas trees, lights strew across the walls and ceiling, and even a note wishing for Santa to stop by, the queue is fabulous and helps put you in the Christmas spirit.
Each boat has been given a new Christmas-type name. The ones I saw were Icicle-Irma and Orinococoa-Ida. A fun detail! They even made their own snowman, and no it’s not Olaf.
Once on the ride, it begins pretty much the same as the regular Jungle Cruise. Our skipper was quite enthusiastic during our time, which made the corny jokes even better! The script has been altered but not changed completely. So Guests still get a chance to hear some of the classic jokes, as well as some new Christmas ones mixed in. Including one about a melted glacier which is now just a waterfall! Sad day…
The animals are adorned with different Christmas hats and colors. Presents are strewn all around the different camps. And even Trader Sam is joining in on the festivities becoming Trader Sam-ta. Get it? I thought it was very funny. But I love corny jokes. Whatever the case, The Jingle Cruise is definitely a fun Christmas activity to do while visiting the Magic Kingdom in December, so be sure to check it out! Merry Christmas!
