Did You Know Universal Orlando Has Its Own “3 o’clock” Parade?

7000943912_106ef2c8f9One of the many things Disney is famous for is their parades.  Guests will save a spot on the street for a long as 3 hours before just so they can get prime viewing.  They’re so popular that there is even an ongoing joke of the question “What time is the 3 o’clock parade?” And at one point, all four Walt Disney World parks had their own parade.  Unfortunately, all but the Magic Kingdom’s have been taken away.  Now, if you head on up the street to Universal Orlando, seeing a parade there might not even strike you as an idea.  Universal is mostly known for its thrill rides and some of its special events, such as Halloween Horror Nights.  But did you know they have a regular daily parade as well? In fact, they also have two special parades as well, one for Mardi Gras and the other during their Grinchmas celebration, the Macy’s Day Parade, a mini version of the Read the rest of this entry

Throwback Thursday: The Osborne Family’s Spectacle of Dancing Lights

It’s been just over two weeks since The Osborne Family’s Spectacle of Dancing Lights went dark forever at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  In case you haven’t heard, the Dancing Lights will not be returning next year due to the major construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the future lands of Star Wars and Toy Story.  With that, Lights, Motors, Actions, Studio Catering Co. and it’s next door merchandise shop, the premiere theater, and all of Read the rest of this entry

REVIEW: Colortopia Brings the Science of Color and Interactive Coloring to Epcot!

Epcot is full of interesting things to do around the entire park.  Whether you want to explore the seas with Nemo and his friends, fly through the sky above California with Soarin’ (soon to become Soarin’ Around the World), or learn about the cultures in each of the countries in the World Showcase, there is something for everyone.  One exhibit that is often overlooked by Guests is the Innoventions areas.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’ve probably walked past them countless times and not even realize it.  In Future World, right past the main fountain and before you reach the bridge to World Showcase, there are two exhibits on either side of you, Innoventions East and Read the rest of this entry

NBC Sports Grill & Brew Provides Excellent Place for Sports Fans, but Leaves Something to Be Desired

The other day, I finally got the chance to experience the newest addition to Universal Orlando’s City Walk, the NBC Sports Grill & Brew.  For months, I’d been excited about trying this new restaurant.  When it was announced the NASCAR Cafe would be closing at City Walk, excitement rose into the air with what could possibly be replacing it.  After all, that restaurant was never very good, and Universal had been on a roll of opening new restaurants that were a complete knock-out for Guests; looking at you Cowfish and Read the rest of this entry

REVIEW: Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf: An Ode to Fantasia 2000

IMG_4717When you think of Walt Disney World, usually what comes to mind is the theme parks.  It’s the big draw for almost everyone, but when you look past the parks, there is so much more to do on property.  One excellent option good for the entire family is miniature golf.  Did you know WDW has two complete mini golf courses, each with their own unique theme? One is located right next to the water park, Blizzard Beach, and is called Winter Summerland, themed around Christmas and a melting winter, much like Blizzard Beach’s theme of a melting ski resort.  The other course, Fantasia Gardens, is located off of Buena Vista Dr right across the street from the Swan & Dolphin Resort.  Yep, you guessed it.  This one is theme all around the movie Fantasia 2000.

For years, I’ve wanted to try Disney’s mini golf courses because I love playing min golf, Read the rest of this entry
