Photo Report: The NEW Hello Kitty Store
Earlier this year, Universal Orlando opened a brand new Hello Kitty store. It is the first in-theme-park store in North America and features Hello Kitty merchandise of all kinds, including Universal exclusive items, and Hello Kitty themed snacks. The store replaced the lesser known I Love Lucy: A Tribute attraction, which I always enjoyed, but it was time for it to go. Hello Kitty is vastly popular throughout the world and it is no doubt this store will get steady customers. During the construction and remodel, Universal also seemed to refurbish the Betty Boop store. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) It does look fabulous. We decided to check out the new store and take lots of pictures. Check them out below!
Thanks to the windows, the building now has much more natural light coming in; something the I Love Lucy attraction lacked. The store is broken up into three main sections.
I loved the Universal exclusive merchandise and Hello Kitty in the Universal movie posters. Mash ups are always fun.
The middle section has the snacks. I’m not a fan of Hello Kitty, but the snacks themselves all sounded delicious! We almost bought some to try.
The third room has games, toys, and luggage in it. It’s safe to saw a Hello Kitty fan can find pretty much anything they’d want.
The middle area of the building as a whole, between Betty Boop and Hello Kitty, now holds some very nice Universal merchandise. I love the polo. The shirts list the opening year. I only wish they were a bit more retro, with the original spinning globe or main entrance. Still neat nonetheless.
Finally, we headed into the Betty Boop store. The refurbishment really gave this store some new life as the older one was very dated. It looks like they got some new merchandise for her as well, but don’t quote me on that. I never followed Betty Boop too closely.
That’s about it. The Hello Kitty store is a great addition to Universal Studios Florida and will satisfy fans of every age. I know I will be keeping an eye on the middle shopping area to see if it continues getting new Universal specific merchandise in it. What do you think? Are you sad that the I Love Lucy tribute left? Did you even know it was there? Will you shop in the Hello Kitty Store? Thanks for reading!
