Tangled The Musical Defines Disney Cruise Line Entertainment

Yesterday, I was incredibly lucky to be invited by a friend to experience my first official Media Day event for the Disney company.  Thanks to a lucky raffle, we were invited aboard the Disney Magic, Disney’s first cruise ship, to see their new entertainment addition, Tangled The Musical!  The show originally premiered last November, but it was overseas, so this was a chance for our local news media, theme park websites, and blogs to report on it. Photo Report: A Day at Busch Gardens Tampa

The other day, we took a trip to Busch Gardens Tampa to ride some great coasters, see some shows, explore the animal areas, and check on the progress of their new coaster, Cobra’s Curse.  Busch Gardens is an easy 60 minute drive from the Orlando area and is very easy to find.  We went on a weekday during their off-season and therefore, the park was not crowded at all. We walked onto every ride we wanted, only waiting for the next train or two.  We saw two shows and multiple animal exhibits and were still finished everything we wanted to do by 3:30. Then we repeated a couple rides and headed out.  Check out the photos below! Read the rest of this entry

Bands, Brew, & BBQ Returns to SeaWorld Orlando with Smash Mouth!

imageYesterday, SeaWorld kicked off its annual event, Bands, Brew, & BBQ with good crowds, local bands, and Smash Mouth! This is only one of many seasonal events SeaWorld Orlando provides throughout the year and it is definitely one of their most popular events, especially for their Annual Passholder.  The event runs on Saturdays and Sundays from February 13 through March 6.  For this year, SeaWorld is aiming to make the event feel more like a local festival for families as you’ll see from the entrance banner. 2015: A Year in Review of Announced Attractions

2015 has been quite the year for theme park announcements. All of the major chains in Florida are currently building large attractions which are scheduled to be open in 2016, and even more set to open in 2017 and beyond! It’s an exciting time to be here in Orlando, that’s for sure. With the year coming to an end, I figured we should take a look back at all of the upcoming attractions that were announced throughout 2015. Read the rest of this entry

SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration Remembers to Keep Christ in Christmas and Here’s How

10366292_10152889751604437_1951783819859244857_nLet me start first by saying this article in no way is criticizing Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando. All three companies, those mentioned and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, offer excellent Christmas activities and attractions. Universal Orlando has its Grinchmas, which I personally love. The Grinch show they provide is excellent; a slightly grittier and even more sarcastic telling of Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas film. And then in the name park, they have Christmas decorations everywhere and the “Macy’s Day Parade,” a mini replica of the one in NYC. Even the Blue Brothers show transforms into a Christmas show. Once: A New Musical

12042899_10153599818069437_1544824690758582565_n      Just over a month ago, I finally got to see the Tony award winning musical, Once! It was performing in the Straz Center located just outside of Tampa, so we made a day of it.  The Straz isn’t exactly my favorite theater to go to, at least ticket price wise, but I was not going to miss another chance of seeing this show.

For this show, the mood is set as soon as you enter the theater.  The set itself is designed to look like a pub in Scotland.  But what makes it unique is, before the show, and during intermission, the set is a working bar!  You heard correct.  Audience members are able to walk up on stage, explore the set at their leisure, without touching anything of course, and even purchase a drink at the bar.  It was an incredible detail!  As it gets closer to show, the actors, Read the rest of this entry

Silvermoon Drive-In Supplies Inexpensive Classic Style of Watching Movies

12167839_10153641561559437_23596641_n        After months of wanting to attend the local drive-in, we finally got the chance to last night.  Located in Lakeland, Florida, an easy 45 minute drive from the Kissimmee area, probably about 60 minutes from WDW property, the Silvermoon Drive-In sits, allowing people of all ages to experience the classic and nostalgic feeling of attending a drive-in movie theater.  Opened in the Spring of 1948, the Silvermoon keeps its doors open with a ticket price of just $5 for adults and $1 for children 4-9.  That is a far cry from today’s local theater ticket prices!  Now sometimes, movie theaters will show classic movies for on e or two nights only for only $5-$7 a ticket, but at SIlvermoon, viewers Read the rest of this entry
