On Wednesday, I had the opportunity and pleasure to be among the first to sample the offerings at the Satu’li Canteen thanks to a Cast Member preview. As you may know, the Satu’li Canteen is located in the new land, Pandora – The World of Avatar. The new restaurant is a fast-casual style offering and, from what we could tell, is located on the right side of the land. So here is our brief experience and early review! We weren’t allowed to take pictures during the preview, so all food pictures are official photos Read the rest of this entry
Well 2016 has come and gone and what a year it was for Florida theme parks. Both Busch Gardens and SeaWorld premiered outstanding coasters for their parks. Universal Orlando managed to bring Kong back home, but to incredibly mixed reviews. And Disney was all over the place with new shows at almost every park (some good, some awful), a new and revamped E-Ticket attraction for Epcot, an attempt to make Animal Kingdom a night time park, and new Star Wars offerings at Hollywood Studios including an incredibly impressive fireworks spectacular!
Now, with 2017 here, we have a number of things to anticipate at locations across Florida! Ranging from VR roller coasters to new attractions and technologically advanced lands to an entire water park, this coming year should be quite exciting. So here is our count down of what we’re most looking forward to seeing in 2017! Read the rest of this entry
Animal Kingdom’s nighttime entertainment premiered a few weeks ago on Memorial Day weekend with their show, The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic premiering on Saturday, May 28th. This last week, I finally had a chance to view the new show for myself and to quote a common saying from parents, “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.” The show premiered to largely mixed to negative reviews and typically I don’t read reviews for entertainment because I like to form an opinion for myself, but this was one I just couldn’t pass up. The reason is because Alive with Magic isn’t the original show which was supposed to premiere at Animal Kingdom for this summer’s Awakening festivities. We were originally set to get a show by the name of Rivers of Light.
Rivers of Light had much hype and excitement behind the show and even got as far as a premiere date with preview shows scheduled. However, none of that happened. It’s rumored, only weeks before the show was set to premiere in late April, Bob Iger himself came down to see a preview of the show and it didn’t end so well. The previews were cancelled and the premiered delayed by a few weeks so the problems could be worked out. Then, the show was delayed indefinitely for what looked like the entire summer. Disney had to act fast and quickly announced The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic; 41 days later, we had a new show! Read the rest of this entry

It seems that even though The Magic of Disney Animation building has been turned in Star Wars Launch Bay, we may still be able to see concept art for upcoming Disney animation films, at least we can for Zootopia! Recently, Disney installed a small pop-up area exhibit for the upcoming film at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Located inside the Conservation Station building at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Guests now have the chance to learn more about how the animators researched real animals to figure out how they would act in the Zootopia world. Since its opening in 1998, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been quite the quandary among Guests with its lacking of things which are offered at every other Disney park, such as night time entertainment, very few rides, and a very small selection of dining options. Well, 18 years later, Walt Disney World has announced it will finally be adding a new signature restaurant for Guests to enjoy at Disney’s Animal Kingdom later this year.
Joining the ranks of the other signature restaurants, such as The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Cinderella’s Royal Table at the Magic Read the rest of this entry
2015 has been quite the year for theme park announcements. All of the major chains in Florida are currently building large attractions which are scheduled to be open in 2016, and even more set to open in 2017 and beyond! It’s an exciting time to be here in Orlando, that’s for sure. With the year coming to an end, I figured we should take a look back at all of the upcoming attractions that were announced throughout 2015. Read the rest of this entry
