Dates for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have officially been announced!
Are you a big Star Wars fan who misses Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Well after three years, they’re finally returning… sort of. Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for one night only on April 14th, Star Wars: Galactic Nights will be a special event offering for Guests. Not to be confused with the Star Wars Celebration being held down the street at the Orange County Convention Center from April 13-16, this event will be an after-hours hard ticket event held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from 7pm-12am.
Guests are invited to celebrate 40 years of Star Wars dressed in their favorite Star Wars costume while taking part in special offerings during this one night event. Check out the listing of offerings below. Read the rest of this entry
It’s September in Orlando and that means Halloween season is here! Mickeiy’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party began even earlier this year on Friday, September 2nd giving us more parties than ever and we had a chance to go on September 13th. It started out with beautiful weather, but around 6, the clouds started rolling in. I dreaded the worst and feared we’d be repeated our disaster of a party from last year, but alas after 2 1/2 hours of rain, it cleared up and we were able to do everything we wanted to! This past weekend, we attended the opening of Halloween Horror Nights 26 on both Friday and Saturday nights and boy what a time we had. This is an incredibly strong year for the event. On Friday night, we took our time and only got through four houses and one show. For Saturday, we partook in the early entry AP event and were able to knock out seven houses and the second show before leaving around 11pm. It was a great and exhausting weekend and we can’t wait to return. Below are our initial thoughts of everything the event has to offer and we plan to update our thoughts as the event progresses. This is because it was only opening weekend and the event can and usually does change for better/worse as time goes on. Actors get more comfortable with their roles. Scares improve, jokes are added, effects are tweaked, etc. So while reading, keep in mind, much of this is based on a single experience on opening weekend. If we have an open mind for improvement, you should too! Read the rest of this entry
Here we are everyone! One month away from the opening of what looks like an incredible year for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. It’s been a long summer of waiting to hear all of the announcements and we have not been disappointed. Six IP houses and three originals, an up-charge house bringing us to an even ten. Plus, we’re getting five scare zones and two shows again. Chance returns this year as our host and is getting her own house and scare zone. With the official HHN Twitter announcing they had decided to do all of the most requested houses this year, it certainly sounds like it is going to be another season for the books! I think the fans will be in love with everything they have to offer for this season. Here is everything you need to know! Read the rest of this entry
Just two days ago, Universal Orlando announced their three original houses and five scare zones, leaving us to believe there was just one house left to be announced. Well, it turns out that wasn’t the case. Today, Universal Orlando announced a brand new virtual reality up-charge experience coming to HHN 26! Check out the announcement below!
Yesterday, Universal decided to release details of all three of their original houses PLUS all five scare zones! It was quite an exciting time. This tallies us to 8 out of 9 houses, 5 scare zones, and 2 shows! The event is packed yet again for another year of crazy fun, only this time, Chance is in charge. And thanks to a tweet from the official HHN twitter account (Hollywood), we now know they decided to do all of the properties fans request most often. Since Hollywood and Orlando are duplicating many houses, this comes as no surprise. Check out the newly released details below! Read the rest of this entry
A couple weeks ago, I had a chance to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. An event I enjoy every year, especially since I LOVE Halloween. Unlike many of the seasonal events out there (not knocking any), this Disney event is perfect for people of all ages, assuming they like Disney even the slightest of course. It comes every year on select nights in September and October, and is one of the most popular events Disney does.
Not-So-Scary is pretty standard each year. Basically, we know what we are going to get with our purchased ticket. There is the famous, and in my opinion best, parade Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade. The parade, although almost always the same with a few tweaks here and there, never disappoints. The song will be stuck in your head for weeks. It allows Guests the chance to see characters they can’t see any other times of the year. And who can forget the best part of the parade: the grave diggers, representing the Haunted Mansion with their shovels! It’s a relatively long parade, probably second to the Christmas parade, and is Read the rest of this entry
This past weekend, I had the pleasure to attend the opening nights of Halloween Horror Nights 25. Thanks to my decision to purchase the Frequent Fear Pass with Express this year, I was able to just enjoy my time through the event both nights and not feel rushed. We also did not both staying until the end opening night just to try and see every house and show because we knew we were coming back the next night. Overall, the event is great. Both nights, we had an incredibly fun time with very few complaints. Most of the houses are spot on with theming, details, atmosphere, and scares. The scare zones themselves vary a bit in regards to those attributes, as per usual. And finally, both shows for the event, Bill & Ted and The Carnage Returns, were incredibly enjoyable for their own specific reasons. I myself am a big horror/Halloween fan and get very excited around this time of the year. I grew up watching horror movies, so it can be quite the challenge to scare me. If I jump once in a house, I Read the rest of this entry
